   About Me

Aaron Thng is an Associate Director of Amica Law LLC. He graduated with an LL.B (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2013. Aaron works with clients in the development, protection, and enforcement of intellectual property. He has acted for clients in diverse industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical technologies, telecommunications, hotels and hospitality, food and beverage, and fashion. Experience Aaron specializes in: • Intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution; • New technology issues and strategy; • Domain name reclamation; and • Trade mark and patent portfolio management and prosecution. Sample matters which Aaron has been involved in include: • Assisting an international hotel group in opposition proceedings before the Court of Appeal against a competing hotel chain; • Assisting an ophthalmology equipment manufacturer in an employment-related trade secrets dispute before the High Court; • Representing a hard disk manufacturer in a corporate espionage dispute before the High Court; • Representing the world's largest co-working space in a multi-jurisdictional trade mark infringement dispute; • Advising a US-based semiconductor chip maker on patent enforcement in Free Trade Zones; • Advising an international network service provider on the copyright implications of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and other IP-address masking services; • Coordinating the cross-border investigation and private prosecution of counterfeiters of renowned fashion and sportswear brands; • Advising a Middle East-based satellite broadcaster on restraining the misuse of its signal overspill; and • Reclaiming numerous top-level domain names for an international hotel group. Memberships Aaron is a volunteer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme administered by the Pro Bono Services Office of the Law Society of Singapore.
